Rikki Zahler, LCSW
Telehealth Only
Rikki is a clinical social worker with extensive experience working with adults with co-occurring health and mental health issues. After graduating with her Masters in Social Work from Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, she pursued her LCSW while working as a medical social worker in a dialysis facility. After working numerous years with adults and pediatrics in dialysis, she pursued a psychotherapist position working with geriatric patients in long term care facilities.
Despite her ability to work with varying types of clients, Rikki finds great meaning in working with the young adult and adult populations, especially those with depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and adjustment difficulties. Although she most naturally utilizes techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Rikki enjoys having an ongoing collaboration with her clients to find an approach best suited for them. Rikki places high emphasis on the therapist-client relationship, and believes that with proper support, any individual is capable of creating a life worth living.
