Linda Pitale, LCSW
Linda is an LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who received her Master’s in Social Work at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Work and bachelor's degree from Rowan University. She has been providing mental health services to people from infancy to the gerontological population. Regardless of their age or the issues presenting, Linda feels strongly that empathy is essential for the development of a beneficial therapeutic alliance, which lies the foundation for effective treatment.
Linda has taught in classroom settings and small group Title I Reading groups, from grades K-8. She has also worked as an MFLC, Military Family Life Counselor, at Fort Dix, where she worked with infants and their caregivers and parents; she worked at the after-school programs with school age children and she worked with teens in the youth center. Linda worked with the children individually, in small groups, and in the classroom, addressing issues related to deployment, return home, and frequent moves. The focus of treatments were PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, TBI, Traumatic Brain Injury, physical injuries, and loss, and death while addressing the standard developmental needs all children.
Linda also has expertise working with ADHD in children and adults, people who have a bipolar disorder or schizophrenia or personality disorders as well as suicidal ideations. Linda utilizes many approaches in treatment of anxiety and depression, addressing anger management, parenting skills, and communication skills.
Linda enjoys working with families, parents, adolescents, and children of all ages. Therapeutic interventions include Dialectal Behavior Therapy, play therapy, as well as several types of psychotherapy including psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
Linda has worked in the Victim’s Witness Program where she provided therapy to children and adults who had been victims or witnesses to sexual abuse or any trauma. She provided treatment to patients in various medical settings, including the ER at Atlantic City Medical Center and the Cooper University Hospital neurology unit. She has also worked with hospice programs, addressing both anticipatory grief as well as traumatic grief.
Currently, Linda is continuing her training in the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program at the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia. She has had significant experience providing outpatient therapy and would consider it an honor to support you in your gaining insight, sharing your journey in the creation of a better tomorrow.
